Scene 05 Done

The final scene, scene 05, is done!! Uff... Here it is...

Saturday 1 December 2007

Playblast Scene 05

uff.. last scene, most complex and heavy! Is taking ages to render..........
I am uploading a PLAYBLAST so that you can have a look.

Scene 04

Scene 04 done! It was a lot of job to animate an underwater world for start... but to have lights as characters... God, definitely it didn't make our life easier!
The lights communicate through light intensity, so that when you animate it you can't see it in Maya, just if do a "render view". As the files were getting heavier and heavier at the end (because of quantity of lights in the scenery, movements, animations and so on) it was becoming painful to render each frame to check if it was right!
Well... I could say that it was like ANIMATING BLIND. This scene is a good example of it!
Each house had 2 own lights plus 2 major lights in the environment and other lights for arch and trees (made by Anja. I had to animate in each of the lights: movement and intensity PLUS the intensity of the "light balls". Oh! Off course... and all the rest: water movements, bubbles, etc but the worse was animating light intensity, for sure.

Scene 01, 02 and o3 with FOG

I have putted a fog to look like underwater world... the image is prettier without it, but i think we must use this fog. Have a look and give your say...

Scene 03_ Shark Eggs

Scene 1 and 2 FINISHED!

Ok, it took me a while.... but here is the new video with the continuation of scene 02 when balls stop and observe the sea feathers. Uff! LOads of work...
Ignore the videos below, this one is with all we have got animated until now.

Scene 1 and 2

Scene 1

THAT'S IT! Was tricky to animate GLOW.... need to be by heart as u can't see the animation in the timeline but just if you render.... well, but got where I wanted!

Reference

Just a very good refence for animating our "light balls".
The best here is how they can express them selves with just the intensity of light

Test Scene 01

Just testing how to animate the glow.... works well

Texturing Time!

Here goes what I have textured. I did many different textures and Bump Map to get the house right... but is difficulty to get to the point of "yeah! I love it! That's it!..." Although, now I am happy with my little house that Tony have modelled.

We have splitted the modelled environment into 3 parts: one for me, one for Anja other for Tony, so that we can texture it for Monday, and keep up with Schedule!

Modelling done

We are definitelly up to date with the schedule!
Environment is mainly done! Great...

Here goes more things modelled.

Underwater look

That is how the environment will look like - houses/sea feathers/shark eggs - where the lights (our characters) are going to go trhough the space.

The storyboard will be on the group website.

Another idea for the houses.... :

Here is one of the first scenes:
all dark when lights appears, so that you can just see a little bit when they pass by things....

Mistery in the beginning where the audience doesn't know where they are......

Underwater Environment

After thinking about an invoronment up in the sky and trying to conceive how it would be, the project took another direction, one more time... We are now thinking about a underwater world.
There goes the first sketches of a "work in progress".

Digital Environment

The incial idea is to use the theme of Global Warming, where we want to show the idea of things that were once beautiful and alive becaming apart, dead and dark, with all the destruction in the athmosphere of the Planet.

We want to create a interesting village, or little city, or just a building, in a compact style, maybe up in the air...

The picture in the left illustrates good the idea of the place being up in the air.

Maybe an animal as a butterfly or a dragonfly will be use as a story teller.

There goes a beautiful reference for butterfly...

We did not decide which kind of environment we will use to show the idea, but here goes intersting refence for future work development:
